Residential Solar System
Now that I am convinced that I want to build my own solar panels, the
solar cell cost is made up in the energy saved and there are
discount solar panels available easily, I am ready to buy
solar panels.
How to Find Residential Solar
Systems
A lot of things evolved out of the 1960s – hippies, tie-dye, some
good music, and an awareness of the environment and our obligation to save it from extinction. Before that
time, people drove around in “gas guzzlers”, without any fear of us ever running out of fuel. Of course, it
is not the fact that we will run out of fuel, but the worry of the price we are paying for it that forced
most people to downgrade their cars to smaller, more fuel-efficient models.
When it comes to fuel in your home, most of us are using the same
fossil fuels that we put in our car. Most electricity in our country is created through the use of fossil
fuels, and not only is that not “green”, but the burning of these fuels is bad for the environment. So, more
and more people are choosing to use solar energy to power their
homes.
Residential solar systems have been expensive in the past and
difficult to install. These residential solar systems, built by engineers and installed by construction
crews, were limited to very rich people with environmentally-conscious minds. For the rest of us, just
regular folk who wanted to save money and do a little good – residential solar systems were out of
reach.
Now, however, they are not. You can buy solar installation kits at an
affordable price. They obviously help to save the planet, but more importantly, perhaps, they save you money.
From the first day you “plug in” your solar panels, you will see an immediate change in your power bill. You
will also become eligible for government money that promotes the use of alternative fuel sources. And, should
you actually generate more power than your home can use, you can sell your excess power back to the power
company and send them the bill!
